Getting back into the swing of things.

Happy New Year!!

Are you enjoying a day off today? I’m not (booooooo). Although it’s really my own fault, I *kinda* volunteered since we get paid double holiday pay. Yes, I can be bought.

So. I’m back from a 2 week blogging break, and I have to say, it was amazing. Not that I didn’t miss it … I did. I missed keeping up with other blogs, and writing in general … but I didn’t miss deadlines and returning mounds of emails and checking stats etc. It was nice to take some time off to just enjoy the holidays and to focus on my ‘real’ job and my boys.

But now? Now it’s time to get back to business. It’s now 2012 … which means a brand new year. And while I obviously have personal resolutions I want to work on, I have a couple of bloggy resolutions as well (which are all really boring and I know y’all don’t care about, so I won’t go into them). If I want to keep those resolutions, I’m going to have to work really hard to make things happen.

So. ::claps hands:: Let’s do this.

I have an obnoxiously huge photo dump for today. Don’t believe me?

BAM. Told ya so.

I could write a really long, drawn out post describing each photo … buuuuuut I’m not gonna. I’m tired, I need to go to bed, so I’m going to give you the abbreviated version: the holidays were awesome. I am incredibly blessed with wonderful, caring, and incredibly generous family … and because of this my home is literally BURSTING at the seems with new ‘stuff’. I foresee a LOT of decluttering and donations to GoodWill in our near future.

What about you? I can’t possibly be the only mom out there who thinks that the giving sometimes gets a *little* out of hand. Did we all see the three separate train/car tracks the Mouse received in the photos above? How are you handling all the new toys your kids received this year?

  1. Merry, merry, Steph! I spent the day after Christmas cleaning out the playroom and kids’ closets. It was so nice to get rid of some of that stuff. Of course, the kids thought it was Christmas Part II since they found a lot of old toys that we hadn’t seen for so long they were like new to them!

  2. I’m glad it was such a good holiday for you guys! And yes, the giving got a little out of hand even though we told everyone to chill out on the buying stuff. Didn’t happen, I guess.

I was already going through toys yesterday to donate/sell!

  3. glad you’re back love!!

  4. We are leaving all the toys Grandma and grandpa bought her at their house.

  5. Looks like a fun break! Glad to see you and your boys again!

  6. We have the same train track! I love your posts they make me happy. Your boys are adorable.
