We have a smaller, 3 bedroom home. And when I say ‘small’ … I don’t mean tiny, but at 1400 square ft. space is tight with 2 kids and baby gear and OMG THE PILES OF TOYS.
Our little house when we bought the place … I could cry the grass looks so pretty. After the crazy drought this Summer, is does NOT look like this anymore.
Most of our home has laminate/fake hardwood flooring … except for the master bedroom and the third bedroom (which is the Froggy’s room right now). And while we do have a rug down in the living room, carpet is WAY better playing on when you have a kiddo who is 6 months old and happens to roll all.over.the.place. Between that, and the fact there is actually more room to spread out in his room than there is in the living room … we spend a LOT of time in the Froggy’s room playing.
To illustrate my point, here is what our living room looks like on any given day:
#1 – Lot’s of toys. EVERYWHERE.
#2 – Consignment sale stuff lingering.
#3 – MORE toys.
#4 – MORE TOYS.
#5 – Christmas candles from LAST YEAR.
#6 – Crazy 3 YO who, I kid you not, was running through my living room when this was taken.
And I have no idea why the laptop isn’t open on the coffee table, this is weird. I was actually somewhat concerned that I couldn’t spot it in the photo right off the bat.
So. Owing to the fact that my kid’s rooms are ALWAYS way more organized and much cleaner than the rest of my house … we play in the Froggy’s room a lot.
I DARE you not to love this kid. <3
And I don’t know what this toy is called, but my mother got it at a SLP convention … and it is the BEST.TOY.EVER. Both of my kids have absolutely LOVED it.
One day, the Froggy will outgrow his crib, and we will purchase bunk beds for the Mouse’s room for them to share … and I’ll get my guest bedroom/crafting room/office back … but until then, it’s the nursery. It’s ‘Baby Froggy’s room’. It’s the playroom. It’s where we tend to gravitate to when some floor playing time is needed.

Super cute pics of your boys!
First of all, the Froggy is so adorable!
Second, how do you have such good lighting in his room? Windows?
Third, our new house has hardwood in the common areas so I’ve got a feeling we’ll be spending a lot of time in the nursery or mommy and daddys room! With all the rolling going on the hardwoods make me nervous!
I actually have HORRID lighting in my home, and almost ZERO natural lighting … I use an external flash on my camera and usually have to ‘bounce’ it.
Great pics!! I’m glad your house looks like mine with toys EV-ER-Y-WHERE!!
it has been SO MUCH BETTER since we moved the boys in together and have a play room now.
