If you take a Mouse to school …

If you take a Mouse to school … he’s probably not going to care one bit about sitting at his cute table, only about trying to find all the new toys to play with {that he’s not supposed to be getting in to}.

True story.

The Mouse starts pre-k next Monday, and last night was ‘meet the teacher’ night. We were lucky enough to get him through the lottery system to get him a spot in a 4 year old pre-k program our school district offers {at a charge, yes, we do have to pay for this}. But really, he is going to get sooooo much more out of this than he would have at the last place he w at, I can’t even tell you.

Although really, we’re super excited for him to get back into any sort of program since we had to take him our of daycare when the husband lots his job last March. The kid needs HELLA structure. STAT.

His teacher has been teaching this class for the past 8 years, and is absolutely adorable. In true Texas fashion she’s loud, with big hair and even bigger hugs. Plus, she decorated her room this year completely in Cat In the Hat decor/colors. It was super cute.

Did I mention he gets his own locker? A LOCKER?!

I can not believe how big this kid is. I can not believe we’re meeting teachers and buying soccer cleats {oh yes, there will be cleats}. I can not believe there was a little girl in the class wearing an ‘Avengers’ tee shirt – because I’m pretty sure my son fell in love.

When is everyone else’s kid{s} starting back to school this year?

  1. I feel like I’ve typed/said this 1000 times, but they really grow too fast! Ours start next week, however, because of her birthday, K is starting PreK 3 this year. She missed the cutoff by two days! TWO!

@Fresh Granola Myn Oh that sucks! Is there a way that you could speak with the director about getting her in? There isn’t a difference in maturity and learning with just a 2 days difference.

That stinks! Brookie is turning 4 in two weeks, but will still be in the 3 year old class all year :/

Aiden won’t be starting at a “real” school until next year when he goes to kindergarten. He’s in the preschool room of his daycare and they follow a preschool curriculum as far as learning goes. We were going to put him in for a full day at kindergarten, but its a lottery system, that I’m not worried about, however we have to pay for it and the cost of that plus before/after school care at his current center would put him at $30 more week then we are currently paying so he will be going to a half day of kindergarten for free.

Brook starts Tuesday. This morning I read a form that said “place montly tuition in child’s locker” and while I should’ve cried at the thought of monthly tuition, I cried because wha?! my baby has a locker?!

  4. He is just too stinking cute.  Can’t wait to hear about all the trouble he is going to cause in pre-K.  You know it’s coming!  Really whatever happened to good old cubbies though??!! Lockers!
