A very bloggy Christmas post.

We’re just about a week away from Christmas (faaaaaaaaaaark), and I’m about to spontaneously explode from the plethora of things I haven’t gotten done. Let’s explore that, shall we?

Things that I have not completed, one week before Christmas:

The tree hasn’t been completely decorated
The porch lights aren’t hooked up
The shopping hasn’t been completed
Not one gift has been wrapped
We haven’t started making teachers gifts
The stockings aren’t sewn
We haven’t been to see Santa yet
My house is a disaster zone

You can see why I’m concerned about to tear my hair out.

So. That all being said – here’s the deal. I’m taking somewhat of a sabbatical for the rest of the year. I’m going to take the next two weeks off of ‘regular’ posting. More than likely I’ll do my Manic Monday posts, and if I have the time or the inclination, I might post something fast … but I’m not going to stress myself out about getting posts done when I have people visiting, or when I’m trying to enjoy my boys during the season … I’ve seen way too many bloggers get burnt out and over-worked and I just don’t want that to happen.

I want to make sure I don’t miss moments like this.

Tell me I’m not the only one stressing out of this ‘most wonderful time of the year’. PLEASE.

You aren’t the only one. I’ve made a conscious decision NOT to stress out about everything this year. Our lights aren’t going up, and I just had to accept that. We still don’t have actual plans for Christmas day because of my family and their flaky-ness; oh, well, even if it’s just the 4 of us it will be fun. I could go on, but then this wouldn’t be a comment, it would be a blog post. ;)

    Enjoy your holiday!!
PS- I take somewhat of an e-break this time of year as well.

Well, our tree is up but has about 10 ornaments on it. And they’re the cheapie ones, not the ones filled with memories because I refuse to have them broken like last year! We don’t have much else up. Some paper snowflakes that Landon cut and made. I’m just too busy to do much of anything else. So don’t feel bad.

I haven’t put up the tree yet. Or a single decoration. The shopping is not finished, the gifts are not wrapped. Don’t feel bad!

  4. I could ditto your entire list. Seriously. The whole thing. It’s not just you.

I’m with you! I still have so many things left on my list. And for the most part, no one has a present but J! I’ve got more than a lot to do this weekend!!!! Hope you enjoy this time with the special men in your life :)

  6. That’s why I’m not making anything for Christmas…there just isn’t time in my life right now with two little boys. And also why my blog is way out of date! Good luck!!
